ST ENIMIE TOURISME LOZERE

The Village of Sainte-Enimie is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, and once there, its charm will seduce you!
The architecture of Sainte-Enimie denotes as much a strong history as a perfect adaptation to its limestone environment.  The origin of the village comes from a monastery built in the 6th century. Stroll through the old cobbled streets of the Tarn, admire the old houses and restored squares that have allowed the village to regain its medieval appearance.

Gorges du Tarn : séjour hotel lozère

The « The Malene – The Care Step »

To discover the remarkable site of the Tarn Gorges, the best way is to use the water. This fun canoe trip will allow you to enjoy the rhythm between swimming and sport to discover the meandering gorges.

The entry into the Straits begins after the river has changed its course 90 degrees to the right (west) unable to dig its way into the cliffs of the Méjean causse.

Séjour Gorges du Tarn : Hôtel Les 2 Rives

At this height the Roc des Hourtous and its gaze centre dominate you by 450 meters. On the Sauveterre side you will notice a famous excavation, the Mummy Cave, a historical refuge during the troubled periods of local history. At the bottom of the cave you will find an elongated stone reminiscent of Egyptian mummies.

You will then enter the canyon barely 30 meters wide, the gorges at the tops of the causses in this place reach just 100 meters wide.

Back by the sublime point!

Located at an altitude of 870 m, the listed site of the « Point Sublime » is one of the places in the Tarn Gorge where the view is breathtaking. Located on the Causse de Sauveterre, Point-Sublime is a lookout that offers visitors the spectacle of these wonderful ochre cliffs plunging into the emerald waters of the Tarn.
At the foot, more than four hundred meters below, the Tarn makes a turn at right angles and this ‘caprice’ allows the visitor to take the gorges in a row, and to the east, and to the south.

Opposite, the steep ledges of the Méjean causse give the final touch to the character of the place and complete this magnificent painting worthy of the greatest artists.

The Roc des Hourtous (little more)

roc des hourtous lozère tourismeCoffee, tea: the perfect place for a little late-day snack with stunning views.

The balcony of the Méjean causse, the panorama of the Roc des Hourtous overlooks by 500 m the narrowest part of the Tarn Gorges: the straits. It is also the evening « a dormitory for vultures ». In spring orchids abound, without being a botanist you can always admire them!
A lookout on the Gorges where the view embraces a whole section of the Gorges, from the hamlet of Angle to Cirque des Baumes.

A second day full of delicacies

After your breakfast on the way to your stay, take the opportunity to visit the workshop of « La Sauvagine », producers of sweet or savoury shortbread, jams (which you could enjoy in the morning for breakfast) and also artisan syrups

A moment full of gluttony and exchange looms.

la sauvagnie confirture lozere tourismeIt is also here that Catherine and Laurent DEPARPE, experiment and explore with passion new recipes ever more greedy and a taste ever richer in fruit. You can also discover the making of salty or sweet biscuit.

The other community’s caussenarde farm

A story that continues to be written

The story begins in 1640 with the first part of the construction of the Farm (first kitchen, first bedroom, first « farm building »). Two extensions were added in the 18th and 19th centuries, drawing the farmhouse as we know it today. In 1946, Irma Julié, Marie’s grandmother, died. The Farm will no longer be inhabited.

In 1973, Marie and Armand PRATLONG chose to introduce as many people as possible to the caussenard heritage through the former farm of the family of Mary. The Caussenarde Farm of Yesteryear was born. Their children and grandchildren continue to live this heritage and traditions now universally recognized by the inscription of the Causses and the Cévennes as a Unesco World Heritage Site
